The five-year USAID-funded project, which started in 2021, focuses on providing HIV
interventions based on UNAIDS based on UNAIDS 95-95-95 goals. It is being implemented by
the University of Nairobi as a prime partner. AMURT supports the project in providing clinical
services, community treatment preparation, and adherence counseling
The two-year program that started in 2021 is responsible for providing technical assistance to
consortium members to enhance the Case Management Approach (CMA), Household Economic
Strengthening, and referral systems for OVC service delivery improvement. The program has a
presence in Kajiado, Nakuru, Murang’a, Machakos, Makueni, and Kitui.
The five-year USAID-funded program started in 2021 and provides health and HIV interventions
to orphans and young children, adolescents, and young women based on UNAIDS 95-95-95
goals. The program has presence in Mombasa and Kilifi.
Supported by Comic Relief, the two-year project (2020-22) that is implemented in Kilifi aims at
strengthening community-based systems in improving integrated early childhood development. It
targeted children below five years and their caregivers as well as building economic resilience
for young mothers.
The DFID-funded project has been running since 2013 with the aim of improving school
attendance among marginalized girls in Kilifi and Samburu.
This is a Global Fund-funded project through AMREF Health Africa in Kenya. As a sub-recipient of AMREF, the project began initially in Samburu County in 2015, but as a result
of the capacity demonstrated by AMURT, 2 more counties were added (Marsabit and Kilifi) from
2017. The organizational strength in management of the project has been steadily growing over
the years, not forgetting to mention additional county awarded, Kwale in 2018, to pilot
community systems strengthening to create awareness and increase demand for uptake of health
services for TB, HIV, and Malaria and lately Lamu in 2023 covering programming areas such as
TB outreaches, TB/HIV social mobilization.
The project focuses on TB prevention and care as well as early diagnosis and treatment, capacity
building of community players & health care workers, community systems strengthening, which
is aided majorly by engaging different community actors, the majority of them being Community
Health Promoters. In this regard, about 700 CHPs have been trained on the TB/HIV community
package, and about 500 health care workers have been trained, and capacity has been built on TB
care, detection, and diagnostics. This has promoted successful linkage between the community
and health facilities, with demonstrated over 5000 beneficiaries reached with various services.
This project aims at improving health outcomes for 2,814 targeted Children and Adolescents Living with HIV (CALHIV) in Kilifi and Mombasa counties – Kenya, over a 12-month period.
