COMMUNITY ORAL HEALTH OFFICER

Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team (AMURT) is a voluntary charitable nongovernmental organization, registered in Kenya as a non-profit organization in 1993. AMURT has implemented over 22 projects countrywide and has supported and worked with local communities, local administration and organizations offering development services.  AMURT’s focus areas are emergency relief, OVC support, education, health care, income generation and capacity building, HIV/AIDS, MNCH, TB control, Nutrition, WASH and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) in 9 counties. AMURT is located in Central region, Nyanza region, Samburu County and Coastal region of Kenya and wishes to fill in the following position based in Nairobi.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE COMMUNITY ORAL HEALTH OFFICER  JOB

      •    Certificate/Diploma in Community Oral Health

      •    Registration with the relevant professional body

      •    1-year practical attachment

      •    1 year working experience as a COHO in a busy dental clinic.

      •    Team player, willing to work long hours and attend to emergencies

COMMUNITY ORAL HEALTH OFFICER  JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

      •    Preparing laboratory Reagents; 

      •    Perform “pain free” dental procedures and provide patients with quality experience during dental procedures

      •    Conduct dental health education to patients
      •    Manage the dental equipment in the clinic and report any breakages to the team leader

Requirements

  • Must be a computer; literate with at least a certificate in computer packages
  • Fast typing skills; Knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.)
  • Great attention to detail
  • Positive attitude & an open mind
  • Familiarity and experience with OLMIS system in OVC programming is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards,
  • Type in data provided directly from project sites
  • Data cleaning
  • Create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes Familiarity and experience with OLMIS system in OVC programming is a plus.
  • Update existing data
  • Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
  • Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
  • Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost

REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR HOUSEKEEPERS TRAINING AND PLACEMENT INSTITUTTION TO CONDUCT TRAINING AND PROVIDE EMPLOYMENT FOR GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN IN AMURT -AJIRI DADA INITIATIVE PROJECT

 

The purpose of this Expression of interest is to identify potential institution(s) with extensive experience and capacity in training and job placement in any or all of the following; domestic, hospitality, cleaning, office or related sectors within Nairobi County. The institution(s) will work in close collaboration with Ananda Marga Universal Relief team (AMURT) to ensure the targeted girls (19 to 24 years) in Nairobi County’s informal settlements are systematically trained and placed in employment by appropriately leveraging on current DREAMS implementing partners and as well as other partners.
